What are the dates for the 2017 Durango Wine Experience? Save the date: May 4-6, 2017. The DWE is always either the last weekend in April or the first full weekend in May! We move according to FLC Graduation.

How many years has this event taken place? Ten! Join us May 4-6 for our 11th anniversary of celebrating food & wine in Durango!

How do I buy Tickets? You can buy tickets online anytime or starting Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in person at  the DWE Event office.

I bought my tickets online. Where do I pick up my wristband and Riedel wine glass? Check-in at the DWE Event Office in the back lobby of the Strater Hotel to pick up your event program, wristband and Riedel wine glass starting at noon on 05/03/2017. Please bring your ID and e-ticket.

Where is the DWE Check In location? Durango Wine Experience Main Event Office Located in the Back Lobby of the Strater Hotel 699 Main Avenue Vendor Registration, Check In, Ticketing & Will Call

When is the DWE event office open? 2017 DWE Event Office Hours of Operation Wednesday, May 3, 2017: 2pm-6pm Thursday, May 4, 2017: 10am-6pm Friday, May 5, 2017: 10am-6pm (Ticketing & Will Call moves to the door of the Grand Tasting Tent @ 2pm on Saturday)

What if I "lose" or  "drop" my DWE Riedel wine glass? You need to bring your Riedel wine glass ($10 value) to both the Walk-About and the Grand Tasting. You can purchase an additional DWE Riedel wine glass for only $5. Nobody needs to know what really happened.

Where is the Grand Tasting? The Grand Tasting is under the big top festival tent in the First National Bank of Durango Parking Lot between Main Ave. and Camino del Rio on 8th St.

What is the Grand Tasting? The Grand Tasting is the grand finale to the DWE weekend! You will be able to sample hundreds of wines, beers and spirits at fifty beverage tables; fifteen of our top local chefs present samples of their restaurant's cuisine; bid on exciting items at our silent auction to help raise money for our non-profit beneficiary and much, much more!

Can I buy tickets for the Grand Tasting at the door? Yes! You can pay $100 at the door with cash or a credit card. You must bring your ID. But you will save $15 and not have to wait in line if you purchase in advance online or at the DWE Event Office in the back lobby of the Strater Hotel. Only $85 in advance online. (Before May 1st)

Where is this "Walk-About Durango" Tasting everyone is talking about? The Walk-About tasting takes place at fourteen downtown Durango locations. You keep your glass while you stroll around Downtown Durango. Sample wine and light appetizers at the best galleries and outdoor spaces in town. Then go out and have a fabulous dinner! An amazing value for only $45! Click here to see the 2017 locations.

Can I buy tickets for the Walk-About at the door? No. Please buy your tickets in advance online or at one of the DWE Event offices. You must bring your ID and stop by the DWE Event Office conveniently located in the south end of Main Ave. in the Strater Hotel Lobby in order to pick up your wristband and wine glass before proceeding to a Walk-About location. Then go have fun! You must check-in at the DWE Event office to show your ID, receive your wristband, tasting map and DWE Riedel wine glass.

I didn't check my calendar before I bought our tickets and I have a conflict; can I get a refund? No, we are sorry, all tickets are non-refundable. We are happy to transfer your tickets to another name, as long as they are 21 years of age or older! Contact Mandi with details.

What is the Weekend Tasting Pass? The Weekend Tasting Pass includes both the Walk-About Durango Tasting ($45), your souvenir Riedel wine glass ($10) and the Grand Tasting ($85 before May 1st & $100 at the door) at a savings! You must wear your wristband and keep your wine glass for both days! It is an excellent deal at only $100! Save $55! Click here to buy online.

I bought tickets online for a seminar. Do I need to go to the event office to check in? No. Please proceed directly to the listed seminar location. Your name will be on a list at the door. Please bring your ID and please, leave your pine tree perfume at home! No perfume or cologne at any DWE event. We want to smell the wine, not the people.

My wristband doesn't match my outfit, can I cut it off? NO!  You must wear your wristband and bring your DWE Riedel wine glass for both days. The Durango Wine Experience will not accept, will not replace and is not responsible for any mangled, cut, lost, dog chewed or stolen wristbands!

Can I bring my kids? Only if they are 21 and have purchased a ticket. No one under 21 will be admitted to any DWE event. Sorry, it's the law. Please be ready to show your ID at all checkpoints.

Can I bring my dog, cat or pot-belly pig? Only if they are 21, have ID and have purchased a ticket. Please leave your pets at home, you will need one hand to hold your wine glass and the other hand to sample our local restaurant's cuisine! Your pets don't like wine anyway! We will consider talking birds and swimming pigs... with a wristband.

How can my business donate an item for the Grand Tasting Silent Auction? Please fill out our Grand Tasting Silent Auction Form online. We ask that all auction items are somehow, even if it is a stretch, related to the arts, hospitality industry, wine or culinary arts. Wine bottles, Gift Certificates to local businesses, Wine art? Thank you for your generosity!

I want to pour at this event! What does my distributor or winery have to provide to participate? You must provide proof that you are Licensed, Bonded, Insured in the State of Colorado to distribute and/or produce wine. Or, you must have a Licensed, Bonded, Insured  Distributor in the State of Colorado. The Durango Wine Experience provides general liability insurance, as required, for all of the events.

Can we bring in a camera? Absolutely! Please post your shots on the Durango Wine Experience Facebook page! Also, there will be a photo booth once again! Do you mail my ticket? No, but we will email you an "e-ticket". Please bring your photo ID and check in at the Strater Hotel for everything except seminars. This is where you will receive your wristband and glass. Seminars attendees please proceed directly to the seminar location. Your name will be on a list at the door.

Do I have to go to the DWE Event office to Check In? 1. If you are only attending seminars, you can take your e-ticket directly to the seminar location. 2. Walk-About Durango attendees must check in and pick up their wristband and wine glass at the DWE Event Office in the back lobby of the Strater Hotel before visiting their first Walk-About location. 3. Grand Tasting participants can obtain their wristband and glass at the Grand Tasting door. But, if you check in at the DWE event office early; you will not have to wait in any lines to enter the Grand Tasting. That is a really good idea!

When is the Fort Lewis College Graduation? Is it the same weekend? Nope! In order to be a good partner with our Hotel and Restaurant participants, last year we moved the event to April to make sure we did not conflict with FLC graduation on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Can the DWE accept donated alcohol beverages to serve with a special event permit? Yes. Please refer to the State of Colorado Liquor & Tobacco Enforcement Division website for more specific details. (See Regulation 47-1010) Alcohol beverages may be donated by Colorado-licensed wholesalers, micro-breweries, brewpubs, vintner’s restaurants, and in-state wineries, if such beverages are used for hospitality and/or fund raising purposes, and are not resold by the drink. Alcohol beverages received from other non-licensed or private sources may not be sold, served or consumed at a special events permit. Colorado Suppliers may provide financial support and/or services for public-service or nonprofit fund raising activities to those organizations that qualify for a special events permit. However, no support may be conditioned upon the present or future purchase of alcohol beverages or the exclusive sale of a supplier's products at future events. Suppliers may also share in the costs of advertisements, signs, promotional materials and items of a similar nature used in connection with a non-profit special event permit. Suppliers may also rent dispensing equipment to a special event permittee at fair market value and may sell glassware, cups and similar items at a minimum of cost. -Regulation 47-1010. Special Event Permittee-Supplier Relationships. 

I "won" some DWE tickets at a silent auction. How do I redeem? Your redemption instructions are on your certificate. It says: "Please bring this sheet & your photo ID. You must be 21 years of age to participate in the Durango Wine Experience. This sheet cannot be replaced. No duplications will be accepted, we can tell! Check in at the Durango Wine Experience Event Office starting May 3, located in the back lobby of the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave. to receive your wristband & wine glass for the tasting!"

What should I wear? In Durango, we have a sense of style all our own. You will see everything from dresses and suits to cowboy boots and hats. It could be sunny and 70 degrees or raining and chilly. Welcome to Colorado! Wear your favorite wine colored dress or wine themed tee-shirt. Depending on the year, we have several people sporting "derby attire". You must bring your id and wear your wristband to gain access to the tastings. The one thing to not wear: perfume or cologne!
